Surgical management of all fractures

As a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, I offer surgical treatment for complex fractures throughout the body:

• Upper limb: shoulder, humerus, elbow, wrist (distal radius) and hand.
• Lower limb: hip (including femoral neck), femur, knee, tibia, ankle and foot.
• Complex trauma: pelvic and acetabular fractures, and initial management of spinal fractures in the poly-trauma patient.

My surgical philosophy

The goal of trauma surgery is not only to unite the bone, but to restore the anatomy so the affected joints function as they did before.

• Anatomic precision: open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) or minimally invasive techniques to realign fragments with millimetric accuracy.
• Advanced implants: state-of-the-art plates, screws and fixation systems that allow early mobilization.
• Experience with intra-articular fractures, crucial to minimize the future risk of arthritis.

When is surgery needed?

• Displaced fractures that will not heal correctly.
• Unstable fractures a cast cannot hold.
• Joint (intra-articular) fractures, to reconstruct the joint surface and preserve movement.
