Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Post-operative rehabilitation: the key to a complete recovery

Rehabilitation is a fundamental part of recovery after any orthopedic surgery. It restores mobility and strength and lets the patient safely return to daily activities, completing the benefits of surgery with durable functional results.

Why is it so important?

  • Restoring movement: guided therapy prevents stiffness and enables progressive, safe mobility.
  • Muscle strengthening around the operated joint.
  • Pain and inflammation control through gentle mobilization.
  • Preventing complications such as joint stiffness and muscle loss.
  • A safe, progressive return to activity.

What a program includes

  • Early mobilization from the first post-operative stages.
  • Range-of-motion exercises.
  • Progressive strengthening.
  • Gait training and correct movement patterns.
  • Education on daily activities (sitting, standing, stairs) and home exercises.

The patient’s active role

Rehabilitation is most effective when the patient participates actively: following the specialist’s instructions, attending sessions and doing the recommended home exercises are decisive for an optimal result.
